Friday:
- Finishing 4:00 – 5:30 Learn the essential skills you need to properly finish your knitted items. Mattress stitch, picking up stitches, three needle bind off, kitchener and button holes will be covered. homework provided at registration
Saturday:
- Drop Spindling 10:00 – 11:30 Welcome to the mystery of making your own yarn! Learn how to spin and ply fiber into yarn. Not only is spinning fun, understanding yarn construction will improve your knitting and crocheting projects.

- Let’s Play Footsie12:30 – 2:00 Saturdays in February are going to be all about the feet! Join in the fun and start knitting socks – let’s explore color, pattern, texture and technique! If you’re brand new to sock knitting, why not sign up for our sock class or get started on some legwarmers? If you’ve already knit socks, but could use some support, then this is the thing for you!
- Umaro KAL 12::30 – 2:00 “A luxuriously textured wool throw, worked in super-bulky yarn.” Have you seen this gorgeous pattern by Jared Flood? Do you already know how to knit cables & lace? Are you intimidated by the thought of putting them all together? Then this is the Knit Along for you!
- Socks! 3:00 – 4:30 Isn’t it about time you learned to make socks? In this three-week class, you will learn to knit a sock from the cuff down, and walk away prepared to tackle almost any sock pattern out there.
- Silk Hany Workshop 11:00 – 1:00 Learn how to knit directly from a silk hanky – no spinning required! This class was sold out last year, so now is your chance! In this two part workshop you will learn how to draft from a lighter-than-air silk cocoon and simultaneously knit a gorgeous silk scarf.
- Thrummed Mittens 2:00 – 3:30 Learn how to knit these charming, extra warm & cozy mittens! Twisted bits of unspun wool are knitted into the mittens to create a fleecy lining. With wear and use, the fleece inside felts into an insulating layer. Fabulous looks & toasty warm!
- Groove KAL 1:00 – 3:00 ”Stripes and cabled slipped stitches add a punch of graphic sophistication to this stylish scarf.” The Fibre Company is hosting a knit along and we are going to join in the fun! Check out their group on Ravelry …. prizes and a live chat with Stephen West, Kate & Courtney! as with all KAL’s – complimentary with your Village Knitter purchase of yarn for the project, otherwise the drop-in fee is $5.00/session.
Open Knit! Tuesday, 12:00 – 2:00 Thursday, 6:00 – 8:30 No instruction, just lots of support, ideas and inspiration. Laughs included. BYO refreshments, if desired.No charge for Open Knit – while it is not required to purchase supplies from The Village Knitter, it is certainly appreciated!
